The Halfords Autocentres Apprentice Programme is one of the largest in the UK motor industry. Lasting three years, the programme supports ambitious apprentices to complete a modern apprenticeship and achieve a vocational qualification and diploma.

How the Apprentice programme works
The programme is made up of a mixture of on-the-job training and off-site learning.

  • You’ll learn in the workplace t one of our 319 Autocentres within the U.K, from a variety of well trained technicians over the three years – they’ll share their own knowledge and mentor you as you get to know a vast range of vehicles and systems.
  • You’ll also have the chance to learn in our purpose-built facilities in Shrewsbury – spending two weeks at a time there and staying in one of the best hotels in Telford, having access to some fantastic fitness facilities and evening activities while you learn to qualify.

Qualifications
You’ll finish the programme as a fully qualified Technician with an Institute of Motor Industry Level 3 Maintenance and repair

You’ll also complete an Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) assessment and benefit from on-going development through our IMI accredited Academy of Learning. Here you can work towards technical and management qualifications, from foundation level through to degree equivalents.
