GCS Associates is proud to represent the Building Materials sector as part of the Building Materials Federation’s (BMF) Sector Awareness Programme. This ambitious initiative aims to raise the profile of the sector and generate awareness among those outside of it, making it more visible, attractive, and accessible. As advocates & expert recruiters for the sector, GCS Associates is dedicated to seeking out the next generation of talent, breaking down outdated stereotypes, and showcasing the diverse and rewarding career opportunities available—from apprenticeships to advanced roles.

 

Our focus is on attracting fresh talent while retaining and developing the current workforce. GCS Associates is working closely with the BMF to highlight various career pathways, particularly through apprenticeships ranging from Level 3 to Level 7 (up to a Master’s Degree). We actively engage with schools, colleges, and communities to promote the sector, generate interest from talent outside of the sector, and encourage people who may not have considered a career in building materials to see the potential it offers.

 

The Building Materials sector, valued at £45 billion, plays a vital role in construction, infrastructure, house building, and RMI markets. It is a sector where individuals can “Shape the Fabric of the World Around Them” and make a meaningful difference. Contrary to outdated perceptions, it is a dynamic, future-proof industry with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.
