Volunteering Barnet: Inspiring Engagement Across the Borough

Since 2015, Volunteering Barnet has been the accredited Volunteer Centre for the London Borough of Barnet, delivered by Groundwork London. As a proud partner in the Barnet Together alliance—with Inclusion Barnet and Young Barnet Foundation—it is dedicated to connecting people and organisations to strengthen communities and create lasting impact.

Supporting every stage of the volunteer journey, Volunteering Barnet helps residents discover opportunities that suit their skills, interests, and availability. Whether someone is new to volunteering or already experienced, the team provides role-matching, application guidance, induction support, and ongoing advice. A dedicated youth volunteering pathway ensures under-18s can engage safely and meaningfully. Each year, more than 6,500 local people contribute their time and energy, building resilience, well-being, and social cohesion across the borough.

For organisations, Volunteering Barnet acts as a central hub—helping charities, community groups, and public services to recruit volunteers, design quality placements, and access resources, training, and toolkits. The service is committed to inclusivity and flexibility, with opportunities spanning a wide range of sectors, levels of commitment, and interests—ensuring everyone can find a way to give back.

Getting started is simple: register online, explore current opportunities tailored to your profile, and connect with the Volunteering Barnet team for personalised support.
