About Social Enterprise Academy
Social Enterprise Academy is a social enterprise charity established in 2004, we support social entrepreneurs through learning and development. Most people think if we want to change the world , we need large companies to make steps. We don’t agree – that is only part of the story. Investing in millions of change makers, the people themselves who care deeply about their community, is the way we are going to make this change happen.
At the Academy, we believe social entrepreneurs play an essential role in changing the world. We strengthen their role in local communities through transformational, experiential learning. We work with changemakers of all ages and backgrounds to support them in making meaningful impact ont he social issues they care about. We create a safe space enabling them to build skills, confidence and agency to make the change. We partner with organisations in industry across the UK to connect with these groups to develop meaningful community impact and support social mobility.

Opportunities
There are a number of ways partners can support us in creating community impact.
Providing match funding or programme sponsorship, enables those who can afford it to fund those who cannot. Creating inclusive learning opportunities for those in the community to develop their skills enabling success.
Through our “Coach to Succeed” organisations can connect with their talent of the future whilst engaging and developing their own talent. They provide our young learners with inspiring industry mentors during their learning journey, opening up the world of opportunity to careers, industries and organisations they did not think were an option for them promoting social mobility whilst developing a real understanding of the social issues the communities they serve care about. Our Experian partners were keen to support young people aged 13 to 15 increase their personal financial understanding and decision making in areas where there are high levels of multiple deprivation. Mentors took part in personal development to enable them to develop relationships with groups of young people over the year. Helping them identify their social issue, develop their business plan, consider their communication and marketing plan and preparing to pitch for seed funding. They provided specific money management training to also help them make better personal financial decisions. The mentors then joined our young people by presenting them with their award at our annual event.
