Stageworks opened in 2003 and established the first government funded fulltime specialist performing arts training courses for post sixteen students. Our courses are designed to meet the preparation needs of young people looking to pursue a career in the performing arts industry.
At Stageworks, we are proud to offer full-time, professional training for students aged 16-21 who are passionate about performing. We offer full time courses in Musical Theatre, Acting, and Professional Performance. All students train five days a week with 18 to 25 Tutor taught hours per week being taught by leading industry experts. Students receive a personalised training programme and train in small classes (approx. 10-15 students). Each year group is a maximum of 40 students which allows for key one-to-one contact time and continued professional and pastoral support throughout the course.
Our students can take part in full productions with professional set and costumes, which gives them the necessary experience on a professional stage. Our purpose-built studios are easily accessible and just a short walk from St Neots Train Station and we can also provide accommodation for students who are moving away from home.
Developing their acting, dancing, singing techniques and confidence to a level where they are ready to audition for higher education pathways, or for some straight out into the workplace. Students are given individual Audition preparation time with Course leaders as well as full support through the UCAs process.
Our students come to train with us from all over the UK and we are proud that many of our graduates maintain the strong friendships they discovered here. The supportive nature of our family environment creates a safe place to develop as skilled confident performers that are willing to take risks and push their personal boundaries to become the professionals of tomorrow.
