University of Wolverhampton – WLV Apprenticeships
The University of Wolverhampton performs a key role in supporting skills development for business and industry through its impressive portfolio of higher to degree level apprenticeship programmes. From engineering to management and healthcare to teaching, we help individuals and employers develop skills and create future leaders.
Our apprenticeships, developed in collaboration with employers and learners, ensure each curriculum acknowledges and addresses known skills gaps, helping to improve knowledge and future proof the workforces of tomorrow.
Last year, we were successful in securing £720,000 through the Office for Students, supporting our commitment to widening participation and growth within degree apprenticeships. This enabled us to enhance existing programmes, in addition to developing and launching new apprenticeships based on employer aspirations and demand.
During May 2025 we commence a Paramedic Apprenticeship in partnership with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and start a Podiatry Apprenticeship in September 2025. We are also developing a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship (Child Nursing) in response to current shortages.
Our commitment to widening participation is evident through our Aspiring Apprenticeships Programme. This free, six-week course (one hour per week, online) is for current employees, or College/Sixth Form leavers interested in higher-level apprenticeships.
