West of England Mayoral Combined Authority

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority helps people gain the skills they need to find good jobs and build their careers. We work across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, partnering with employers, training providers and community organisations. Our aim is to make sure local people can access the training and opportunities they need to succeed. 

Working closely with employers is a key part of what we do. By listening to businesses and understanding their skills needs, we help design training and employment programmes that match real industry demand. This helps employers find the talent they need and supports people to start work, retrain or move forward in their careers. 

We offer support through Skills Connect with a range of practical programmes such as Skills Bootcamps and the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer. These help people gain new skills, change careers or grow in their current roles. Employers can benefit from funded training, help shape programmes and connect with a diverse future workforce. 

The West of England Careers Hub also helps prepare young people for work by linking schools and colleges with employers and improving careers education across the region including North Somerset. 

By bringing together businesses, education providers and communities, we are helping build a stronger and more inclusive workforce. We welcome conversations with organisations that want to support skills development or explore how apprenticeships can help their business grow.
